Hello,
I am trying to have a P&L comparison with a scenario A on 2024 vs. a scenario B on 2025.
Is it possible to have a column scenario A 2024, a column scenario B 2025 and a third column with the variance between both ?
When I try to do it, I have 2 columns per scenario and per year and it’s hard to read.
Thanks

Hi Venitia,

You need to use the calculated item functioality.

Right click on your scenario > Add Calculated Item > Offset Calculation

Thanks Nathan, but is there is way to hide the columns uneeded ?
I would like to hide the columns I have put a cross on, to make it readable.

@venitiav depending if they have value, you could hide empty columns.
However, for Calculated Items you cannot at the moment but there is an idea in the roadmap :

Hello Venitia,

You can use a boolean filter to hide those columns.

  • Create a boolean metric by Year and Scenario, and check only the combinations you want to display. (next step could be to add a formula to the metric, so current year is automatically checked based on an application variable for example)
  • Add that metric to the table but hide it so it’s there in the pivot, but invisible in the view.
  • Add a view filter to filter by this metric.

Then do the calculated item using the “Offset” option. You might want to try to pivot differently your column headers. E.g. if you don’t have the right options in the calculated item menu, invert the position of Year and Scenario in the pivot and try again.
