Date to Month of the Year Conversio

Hello All, I’m currently trying to build an effective date for Merit increases and my input is as follows dimensioned by country and year. Right now, I’m trying to populate the table below with the month of the year e.g. FY23 should should December. I tried writing a formula TIMEDIM(ASM_Input_Merit Date, Month) and convert the data by Month.Month of the Year but it doesn’t work. Any suggestions on how I should write this formula?

Issue with (unwanted) date conversion in CSV import

I have a CSV file with a column indicating  the month dimension. It is “Jan 25”, “Feb 25”, etc. On the initial import screen it looks correct,however, as soon as I map it to the Pigment property (Month dimension type) it shows in the preview as My imported data is all loaded into the wrong months. I want it to just take the exact value in my CSV as the name for the Month dimension instead of converting a date. I tried double-quoting the field in the CSV, that didn’t help. Loading it into a regular text property works fine so it doesn’t appear to be an issue with the source data itself.

Trigger import from board in different application

Is there a way to allow a user to trigger an import configuration for a list in application A, from a board in application B?When I attempt to configure the button it is only showing me lists from application B.

Sequence of modifiers to be followed in a complex formula

Hello,As I start my pigment training and work through the formula exercises, I have a question regarding the order of using multiple modifiers within a single formula.I’ve read that the sequence is important when combining BY and FILTER. In the same way, are there any best practices or modeling guidelines that affect performance or functionality when using several modifiers and operators together in random sequence, such as BY, BY->, Select, Filter, Add, Remove, or Exclude?Below is one example from the formula exercises (it may be a simple formula but I am thinking about what sequence to follow for complex formulae):'EE_Calc_MonthlySalary_+increase'[BY SUM: -> EE_Data_Stand.Area][by: 'GL Account'."11100"][remove sum: Employee][by :-> MAP_Datatype] Thanks

Page Selector - Defaul items

HiI want to restrict users on selecting only months with actual data and set up the Current month (the last month with actual data) as default for the Month selector.I created the Actual Months (multiselect) and Current Month item variables.Then I set up Actual Months as available items and tried to set up Current Month as default item.But after applying these settings nothing happend, meaning the Month page selector shows All, not a particular - Current - monthWhen I returned to Selector options I found out that default item for month had been changed to All values.The selection mode - multi or single - doesn't impact the behaviour.Are their any limitations to the default items? Why it's happend?And how can I make the excpected result happen? Please advise!Yuri

What is the best practice for using BY modifier with Allocation method, BY CONSTANT vs BY?

Hello-As I begin pigment training and work through the formula exercises, I’ve noticed that while CONSTANT is the default allocation method, I often omit it, assuming it will apply automatically. However, the post-exercise walkthroughs consistently include it explicitly.Is there an advantage to always specifying CONSTANT (for allocation) or SUM (for aggregation), even when they’re defaults?Thanks,Sudhakar

Tracking Headcount Changes

Hello Everyone,I’m trying to build a validation process for headcount planning where I can track if a team member’s salary/cost center/class change vs the last load month. We currently load our data daily and each load will replace the previous load within the same month, so we would be comparing the difference vs the last load month. My intention is just to build a board that notifies us when changes happen and I don’t need to create a whole process of validation before these changes runs through to the forecast. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Include ratio calculationbased on multiple dimensions

Hello,I have a metric that shows the P&L.I’ve been asked to add multiple ratios like % of GM / Revenue or % Contributive Margin / Revenue. The issue is that the accounts are not on the same dimension (revenue is Account lvl 2 and Gross Margin is Account lvl 3).What is the easyest way to add those ratio. Do I need to create a specific metric just for them or can I do the calculation directly in my metric ?

How to add more than two items to a calculated item

Hello, I am trying to create a calculated item to sum values from countries into a region. However, I only see the option to combine Item A and Item B… is there a way to insert more Items (e.g. Item C) in Pigment? Thank you!

Import Failure: Date format mismatch

I am trying to import a file manually. On the mapping tab in pigment the year column shows error. I tried various variations of the date format in my source file but the error is still not resolved. In pigment values for year dimension look like “FY 10”, I maintained the same date formatted structure in source file but the import did not work. I tried changing the year to look like “2010” in source file but that did not work either. what could be the possible reason for this error?

Variance Reason Waterfall

Hi all - I was trying to do something similar to the analysis Actuals vs Forecast as it is shown in the video of this use case.In that example, Actuals and Forecast columns are version dimension, right? How is it possible to do the monthly variance and the YTD variance all in the same table? I did something simliar but in two different tables because in one I need only one month and in the YTD I need several so it’s a different filter How can I link the variance reason to the actual delta (maybe it should be something around the by→ but not sure). Does anyone have experience on doing so? I’m struggling a bit.Thanks!

Max - All Time High table

Hello Pigment team,  I am trying to build a simple table that shows All-Time-High result based on the report. As shown below, there are multiple segments (No Sales, Core I, Core II, etc) and each reached highest (i.e. max) in different period (highlighted in yellow. Based on Period Type: Actual only, I would like to show 1) highest number for each segment and 2) highest date. I assume i need to create two different metrics and combine in a table. Is my approach right?   The table setting would be something like this:(Please note, the values below will not match with the values above highlighted cells)

What is the maximum number of cells that a table can display?

Hello Pigment Team,I’ve been testing various tables with large amounts of data to determine the maximum number of cells allowed. In my experiments, I’ve created tables with 1,000 metrics, 500 metrics, and 200 metrics, each dimensioned by weeks (208) and lists (5,000 records). Initially, I aimed to create a table with 5,000 metrics dimensioned by 208 weeks and a list of 1,048,576 records, but this did not work as expected.I’ve noted that applying “Dynamic Filters” doesn’t resolve the issue. Even when my dynamic filter shows only one selection, no data appears and I receive the error message: “Unable to load content for the current view. If the error persists, please contact technical support.”Is it more challenging to handle a larger number of metrics compared to a larger number of records in a dimension list? Do dynamic filters account for the “hidden” data they contain? What are the capabilities of Pigment in this context?Thank you for your assistance.

Launch multiple imports at once

Hello,I’ve created a Pigment app connected to a NetSuite environment. All my master data and figures are coming from this system. ITEM() does not find data from Dimension

I am looking to normalise some Country data from different sources in different formats (e.g. some countries have full name others ISO codes). I have been using the ITEM() function to map all correct countries to our Master Country dimension.I was now planning on doing something similar by pulling in the ISO code dimension which is also linked to the Country dimension. However, the ITEM() function does not seem to return any values which confuses me. Ultimately, I am planning to then pull in the Country dimension from the ISO code and combine the two country fields via IF sentences.

Multiple level breakdown - G-sheet integration fails

If I break a metric by mutilpe break downs in a table in Pigment, at the time of exporting to g-sheet using Pigment connector, i don’t see any breakdown. i only see one row of data w/o any breakdown by dimensionsis this a product limitation or a bug ?

Different AR on a same metric based on different application

Is it possible to apply different Access Rights on a same metric based on different applications ?i.e. Metric A should have rule configuration of AR 1 (if metric A is used in App 1)and if the same metric A is getting used in other App (App 2 - by turning the sharing On), this metric should have access rights AR 2 AR 1 and AR2 are security metricsIs there any alternative solution for this?

[NEED HELP] Connect Pigment with an External Service Through an API request

I am currently testing an external API integration in Pigment to retrieve a response and display it within the platform. Setup Details: I configured an API connection in Pigment. On the Action board, I added a card with a button to trigger the API call. When I click the button, the API call is successfully triggered. Issue: Although the API call is being made, I am not receiving any JSON response within Pigment. The response does not seem to be captured or displayed. Questions: Is Pigment’s external API setup only meant for POST requests, or can it also handle GET requests and return responses? Can I retrieve the API response and manipulate or display it within Pigment? How to link variables together?

Hello,I made a subset in my Month dimension list, in order to create a boolean metric that has Months in rows and columns. I named this subset ‘MonthTimeIntel’. Basically I wanted to create a boolean that checks what the trailing twelve months are for each month. Something like this:So far, so good. I then use this metric as a filter for my charts and graphs where I only want to show the last twelve months. Also: so far, so good. But lastly - I don't want another page selector on my dashboards. Because now the page selector for ‘MonthTimeIntel’ shows up on my dashboards, but I don't want that. Is there a way so that the MonthTimeIntel page selector moves in unison with my Month selector and so I can hide the MonthTimeIntel selector? I understand that they are two different dimensions, but it would be great if they can somehow come together.I hope my question is clear :-) Thanks for helping me out!Best, Bas
