  1. I have a Calendar folder in [01] Data Hub app. As I create additional related apps should I create a new Calendar in each? I know I can open the Data Hub dimension to be shared
  2. Can I dimension-chain my way back to the Data Hub time dimension’s properties? I use the Data hub Time period lists in the structure (dimension format) of Metrics in the related apps, can I reach data hub propts in formulas?

Hi @Kevin Leadbeater

  1. Not only is it possible, but it’s considered the best practice and there’s no need to create calendars in each app.
Your data hub app will usually contain the calendar, which is then shared across the whole workspace and referenced in your metric data structures and formulas. In some rare cases though you might need to add an app-specific calendar, for example when your general time dimension is at month level, but you want to manage daily cash-flow reporting/planning.

  2. You can reference the hub calendar dimension list properties from other apps, like Month.Year or Month.'Month of Year' etc

Cheers,

Laszlo
