If we can use variable in formula than we will not have to create metric for the same.
So I would like to know that we can use variable in formula, if yes then how?

Variables are useable in Page Selectors and Calculated items. There currently isn’t any way to leverage variables in formulas. I’ve included a reference below to out documentation on how to use variables.
