Great to see this new functionality!  2 questions:

  1. Is there a way to preserve formatting in Excel (i.e., to refresh data in a report)
  2. I cannot see an option to “push” data, only to pull.  What am I missing?

Thanks!

Hi Mitch,

I hope you’re well!

  1. Yes, the formatting should be saved if you set it up in excel first, then pull the data, then save. You should be able to refresh your data.
  2. Push is not currently available but it is a candidate on the product roadmap. As usual I’d recommend you raise an idea here explaining the case and the priority so the Product Managers can review - this will help them to prioritise. You can do this here: Product ideas | Community (gopigment.com)

I hope this helps!

I see that I can keep formatting in excel in terms of borders, colors, etc. but every time the data is pulled the number formatting for cells is replaced.  Is there a way to ensure that number formatting is not overwritten every time data is pulled via the connector?

Hi @Mitch Max

In case you missed it - now you can push data from Excel to Pigment, making our Excel Add-in fully bi-directional. When you open the Add-in, you’ll be prompted to choose between Push and Pull modes.

For more information:

Thanks,
