Hi,

Id like to use the boolean result of a source metric to filter the view of a target.

However, I cant seem to be able to set up the filter to take a value from a metric external to the metric to be filtered.

Is this possible?

If not, is there another way to using the filtering tool?

You would need to place both metrics within a table. Then hide the boolean metric from view. It will look the same as the source metric but act according to your filter.

I want to use 01.04 to filter 01.05.

Is this the simplest solution? This feels too complex for such a simple piece of functionality!

So - in theory you could also create a formula to fill out the 01.05 only where 01.04 exist if it’s a formula, or fill it with “0” to be filled in if an input - but I find that more complicated.

If it’s meant to be an input/on a board eventually you’ll want it in a table anyway - we almost always want to use table views for any user interactions - this makes it so that if down the line metric structure changes, the views do not necessarily change - it’s also much easier for maintenance - if say down the line you want to have 2-3 metrics for input or you want to filter by something else in the future.
When I’m developing I usually have one table per folder - then several views of that table sometimes for different purposes.
