I can see the page options for metrics and graphs that allow filters to be linked to the same as the board. However is the same available for Transactions lists?

Yes!
Even though list views are different (note the difference between the Configure and Pivot panels), lists can also use Pages.
Some limitations apply though - since you’re not pivoting, you’re really filtering on a property of that list itself.
