Functions, modifiers, or data actions to copy data from year N to year N+1, or From Version A to Version B

I think, you can use the feature of Import Data → Metric to Metric Import;
and perform the mapping example: From year 2025 to year 2026 in the Mapping Dialog box.
 

• Open the target metric
• Click on ellipsis from top right 
• Click on Import Data
• Select: “Pigment Metric” tab and then choose the name of your source metric
• In the dialog box, choose the year or version
