Hi

I want to restrict users on selecting only months with actual data and set up the Current month (the last month with actual data) as default for the Month selector.

I created the Actual Months (multiselect) and Current Month item variables.

Then I set up Actual Months as available items and tried to set up Current Month as default item.

But after applying these settings nothing happend, meaning the Month page selector shows All, not a particular - Current - month

When I returned to Selector options I found out that default item for month had been changed to All values.

The selection mode - multi or single - doesn't impact the behaviour.

Are their any limitations to the default items? Why it's happend?
And how can I make the excpected result happen?

Please advise!

Yuri

Hi Yuri,

Thank you very much for reaching out to us on the Community. I am currently reviewing this and will keep you informed with any insights.

Thanks & Regards,

Hi Yuri,

I think in this case you just want to set up a simple Variable on Month but on the Available Items instead of Default Items, this would just be a Boolean structured only by Month

You can then create the variable

And finally set Available Items to this Variable

You can either allow Single or Multi on Selection. Make sure you then select ‘Apply’

You can see the documentation here;

Let me know if this helps solve your case, or if I’ve misunderstood it :)

Hi @Keiran,

Actually, I want to do two things: allow users to select only from actual months - this is what your advice is about, but then I want to set the default month for the selection as the last of actual month.

The second one appeared a problem I described

Yuri

Hi @Yuri Pinchuk,

To allow users to select from actual months and have current month selected by default you need to add your 2 variables “Actual Months” and “Current Month” as available items, and then only “Current Month” as default items :

I hope this will help solve your case !

Thank you, @AurelieRonzino, it works!

Hi Yuri,

Thank you once again for reaching out to us on the Community. We are very pleased to assist with and very glad to learn that you were able to successfully achieve the expected result by selecting both the variables in the available items.

Thanks & Regards,
