How to check the usage of a shared scenario?
Hi there,
You can check the usage of a shared Scenario in Pigment within the Block settings of a Metric. This allows you to see all the blocks that reference or use a Metric, including shared Scenarios.
Navigate to the Library section within the block settings and activate the Share this Block with other Applications toggle if you intend to share this block with other applications.
Navigate to the Block Usage section within the block settings to view every reference to this metric across the workspace.
Additionally, you can view a list of all Shared blocks in an application within the Block Explorer.
Here, you can filter for shared blocks and view all of the Scenarios active on the application
You can then see whether a Scenario is shared on not, depending on the presence of the Shared icon (two overlapping circles)
Shared Scenarios can be used across different Applications and are the default for Workspace Administrators. If you want to create a Local Scenario, you’ll need to disable the Shared Scenario option in the Scenario creation form. Shared Scenarios are particularly useful when your Application uses Shared Blocks from other Applications and you need to change assumptions on these Blocks. You can identify a Shared Scenario by the two rings icon next to it.
Please note:
- When Scenarios are activated, they apply across all blocks within the Application.
- Enabling Scenarios in a new application provides access to all existing Scenarios in the Workspace unless custom access rights are set to restrict access.
