Month after month, Pigmenauts share challenges, ideas, and solutions that help us all learn and grow together.

To celebrate this knowledge sharing, here are July’s top 5 questions. We’re highlighting the ones that sparked the most interest and views from fellow members 💡.

Whether you faced the same challenge or want to learn new tips, these threads are a great place to explore, contribute, and connect.

  1. How do I archive data within metrics?

Question - @johnturner:

"I'm looking for a way to keep live planning versions and static archived versions in the same application, without duplicating applications or maintaining dozens of metric-to-metric imports. What's the best approach?"

Best Answer -@Stef:

The recommended approach is to use Snapshots together with Slices.

Unlike metric-to-metric imports, Snapshots are static by design (they can't be changed or recomputed) and Slices let users compare snapshot data with live data directly within the live application. You can also remove Versions that are no longer needed for live calculations while keeping historical data accessible through Snapshots.

Then, from the settings panel, set Default display name to the Display Name column.

“My Pigment Partner certification is about to expire. What do I need to do to maintain it?”

Best Answer - @Tobias Gorsia:

As of June 1st, 2026, the online Pro Training courses are still available in the Academy but no longer grant certification.

The recommended certification path is now the in-person Partner Bootcamp. Partners can find the latest certification requirements and training information here.

  1. Workaround for Schedule Sending Boards/Blocks as a PDF?

Question - @kristian.bartel12

“Is there a workaround to automatically export a Board as a PDF and send it to a list of email recipients on a recurring schedule?”

Best Answer - @Gigi:

This isn't currently supported natively in Pigment.

If you only need to share the data, you can automate a data export and use an external tool to generate and send the PDF. If you need the Board layout itself, PDF exports must currently be done manually.

If this capability would be valuable for your team, consider submitting or upvoting it as a Product Idea.
