Month after month, Pigmenauts share challenges, ideas, and solutions that help us all learn and grow together.
To celebrate this knowledge sharing, here are three October questions that sparked thoughtful conversations in the community 💡.
Whether you faced a similar challenge or want to learn new tips, these threads are a great place to explore, contribute, and connect.
1. Helping Claude MCP access dimension properties
Question -
“Why can Claude MCP find certain metrics but not see a dimension’s properties, such as a simple text property, and how can I fix this?”
Best Answer -
Check whether Advanced tools on MCP is enabled. Turning this setting on may allow Claude MCP to access dimension properties.

2. When a renamed metric is not propagated to dependent formulas
Question -
“Why did renaming a metric leave the old name in a downstream formula and cause an ‘Unknown Block’ error, and how can I restore the reference?”
Best Answer -
This can happen during an intermediary state while the whole application is updating. In some edge cases, refreshing the crawler can help complete the update and restore the dependent reference.

3. Preserving Pigment connectors when duplicating a Google Sheet workbook
Question -
“Can Pigment connectors be preserved when duplicating an entire Google Sheet workbook, instead of having to recreate them for each template?”
Best Answer -
Duplicating the entire workbook does not currently preserve the connector configurations. Preservation is available when copying the connection configuration to another sheet within the same spreadsheet. The Community discussion also points to a feature request for keeping Pigment connections when making a copy of a Google Sheet, which members can upvote if this workflow matters to them.
