Problem: End-users are struggling with hierarchical selectors because they are forced to scroll through hundreds of unpopulated, irrelevant items. Here is a direct complaint we just received from a business user regarding this UX:
"Please can we go back to the previous selection panels on Pigment. I really do not like the amount of time it takes me to select my category / correct week with the new dropdowns. I also have no interest in having to filter passed hundreds of categories I do not work in."
Technical Gap: On standalone selectors (e.g., Scenarios, Period Type), builders can set the dropdown to "Only relevant Items". However, when dimensions are grouped into a hierarchy (e.g., Product or Time), this configuration column is completely unavailable. Because of this missing feature, end-users are forced to navigate the entire master list at every single tier.
The Ask: Please expose the "Only relevant Items" toggle for individual dimensions within grouped/hierarchical selectors. This will ensure these dropdowns only show data relevant to the board's widgets, just like standalone selectors do today.
