Bills of Materials Management in Supply Chain Use Case.

Hi , I am looking to figure out a solution for BOM Management in Pigment. Background:I have 2 columns in source data, one for parent and one for children.I want to create a hierachy using these 2 columns. The catch here is, parent can be a children or children can be a parent. Let me know if anyone is interested to work on this challenge with me.

Reader Role - Can't View Boards

I have created a group and have added members with access to a handful of applications. For the time being, I have assigned them the reader role. However, I can not get them to see the boards. The screenshot below is from me impersonating one of the users. I’m stuck on what to do next. Do I need to go through and change permissions to each of the boards? Or even each of the blocks? Is there a quick way to have them see the boards? Do I need to edit the reader role and change permissions there? I have read through several articles and I can’t match the instructions to my workspace. Any help or insights would be much appreciated.Kevin

SELECT Modifier with Dynamic Offset

Hello! The SELECT modifier can be used to Offset a dimension (ex. SELECT: Month - 1), but is it possible to assign different Offset amounts based on one of a dimension of the Metric? Here is the example I am stuck at now: I am trying to assign specific Offset amounts to a metric (0. UFR - Live) based on the Customer Payment Term dimension (ex. For any data in the Net 30 → 1 month offset, Net 60 → 2 month offset, etc) Ideally I could assign an Offset Integer as a Property of the Customer Payment Term dimension and that would determine the Offset (ex. [SELECT: Month - ‘Customer Payment Term’.’Offset Integer’]Is there a better and more sustainable approach rather than a massive nested IF statement? Thank you!

Extract Day from a date in text format

Hello,I have a Date field called “Delivery Date” (Ex : 10/06/2024). From here, I want to extract the day of the week in text format (Example :10/06/2024 is “Monday”) and my calculated field should show similar to the example here. I tried WEEKDAY(‘Delivery Date’) and it returns day of the week but in number format and I tried again TEXT(WEEKDAY(‘Delivery date”), again it does not work. How to convert weekday into Text format like Mon,Tue,etc…? thanksMohan

FORECAST_ETS vs SEASONAL_LINEAR_REGRESSION

Could anyone provide some guidance on when to use the function SEASONAL_LINEAR_REGRESSION over FORECAST_ETS? In our specific case we have a metric with a yearly seasonality and the overall trend for the metric is going slightly downwards. We would like to use our actuals data to automatically calculate values for all forecast months. I can see that both functions gives me reasonable values for my forecast, but FORECAST_ETS gives me a clearer trend downwards while SEASONAL_LINEAR_REGRESSION gives me more flat forecast. So my question is really, which one would make most sense to use in our case and why?

Table with Metrics the Use Different Scenarios

Hello! I am seeking to make 1 Table that has 2 metrics (image below). The metrics are “P&L” and “Commentary”.For the P&L metric I am seeking to show two different scenarios (“Actuals” and “Q2 Outlook”)For the Commentary metric I am seeking to show ONLY 1 scenario. Is there any way to achieve this? It seems like the Scenario page selectors apply to ALL metrics in a table.Curious if others have found get arounds for this?

Scenario Order misplaced in Google Sheets export

Hi all - we are running into an issue with our Google Sheets connector where the order in which scenarios are selected in the saved view does not seem to get passed on to g-sheets. Explaining this in more detail below: We have added a screenshot below showing our list of scenarios. We want “Apr 24 Close / May 24 Reforecast” to be the first scenario and “FY24 Company Plan (Approved Changes)” to be the second scenario -- this is because we want Apr close to be on the left and FY24 company plan to be on the right hand side of our table. When we export this view using the Google Sheets connector, we are required to select the 2 scenarios again and their order seems to be reversed once we pull the data (see second screenshot below). Any thoughts on whether we’re doing something wrong or if there are any workarounds available for this?

IF statement determined by boolean

Hello - I am trying to update a formula based on a boolean that is determined by the latest date in a data upload. I believe the following equation is close to what I need.Formula: “if('Is Forecast?','Go Forward Cohort'[select:'Go Forward LTV Driver'."Borrower Retention"][BY:->'Map to Cohort Month'] , if('Is Actual?',('2.002 Cohort View - Borrower Retention Lookup')[remove lastnonblank: Month][remove lastnonblank: Cohort][ADD: Cohort]))”There are two issues:1. I want to add a previous function to the first part of the if statement. If there is no data to pull from the “go forward cohort metric” I want the function to pull the last data point there is2. When updating to the above formula my application will time out. Is there a more efficient formula that will prevent this? Thank you!

Combined Views

Hi, Is it possible to create 3 distinct views on 3 distinct metrics, and combine the metrics into 1 table that incorporates the 3 distinct views? Alternatively, say I have a table constructed from multiple rows that are each a metric. It would contain 3 sections (Revenue, COGS, and OPEX). Is there a way to have unique row pivot selections for each of the 3 sections and not having the row pivot selections impact all rows instead? Or will this require 3 unique tables, separating the 3 sections?

Pigment to Azure Export 404 Error

Hi all, I am trying to export data in a given metric to azure data factory. I am following the guide in the pigment documentation exactly, however when i go to pull the data, I get a 404 error. I have set up the export keys and I am using the correct applicationID and the correct metricID. Any insights into what else I may be missing would be great.Thank you

Excel connector and date format

Hello Pigment community,I am trying to use the excel connector for Pigment and I have realized that when pulling the data the dates are formatted as text. Invite Members in Bulk

Is it possible to invite members to multiple applications at once? Currently I have been going into each application, clicking on Settings, clicking on Roles, permissions & access, and then inviting members there. It would be great if I could select multiple applications for which I am the owner and do a bulk invite. Is there any functionality similar to this in Pigment?

Align Block Exercise - Values aren't adding up right?

Hi. I just finished the Align Block Dimensions for Formula Operations exercise. In the final table, we are to add the four metrics we created. No problem. But, when I look at the table my bonus metric does not match the “solution”. When I check the data, it adds up correctly to year and the formulas match. Any suggestions? Same formula. R&D Capitalization Schedule

Hi All, I am trying to create a R&D cost Capitalization schedule and need some help. Essentially which I am trying to do is spread the cost over 3 years but then add the incremental monthly amount as well. For example: If Jan 2024, my R&D cost is $1200 and $2400 for Feb, then I should see $100 (1200 / 12) for Jan 2024 till Dec 2024 and for Feb cost, it should be $300 ($2400/12 + 100). I hope i am clear in my ask. Thanks

Hi, I am trying to calculate the MoM change in a metric, I know there is an option of ‘Show Value As’, but that just creates a view on top of the existing numbers and does not perform a calculation on the cells. Is there a way I could do a MoM change using a formula? Thanks

To See Block Size - Full Read Needed?

Hi Pigment Community. So, it just occurred to me as I’m going through the courses that I cannot tell if I’m creating blocks/metrics that are too big. I read an article by @Samya Barkaoui on block building best practices that mentioned I need full read access to see these statistics. Is that correct? Who do I contact to obtain this and is this something that modelers don’t normally need in Pigment?

Fx management in Pigment - Workoforce app

Hi Everyone, We would like to have an easy workflow and process for compering Budget USD salaries at budget FX rates vs Budget USD salaries at actual FX rates. Is it a right approach to create a FX version dimension like FX actuals, FX forecast, FX budget etc? Or is it more efficient to utilise our current Version dimension and once we have a budget version we just make a copy of it and update FX rates in that version based on actuals to get the re-calculated USD budgeted salaries as per most recent rates? So the use case is: having an easy way to understand the FX impact in the BvA report.Example:Employee with 10,000 EUR salaryBudget EUR/USD rate: 1.2Budget USD: 12,000 USD salaryNetsuite Actuals EUR: 10,000 EUR salary (same)Netsuite EUR/USD rate: 1.3Actuals USD: 13,000 USD SalaryBvA = (1000) USDWe would like to then easily explain to budget holders that this 1,000 USD overspend is pure FX and not their "real" action on spending more. Finding specific text in a string

This was asked internally, and I thought I’d share the answer in case it’s of use to others!If you have a specific term you want to look for, in this case ‘Intern’, it can come up in Position names, but you may get false flags for longer words like ‘International’To identify these, I’ve created an IF statement that checks if the term is in use by checking for the trailing space, or checking if it’s the last word in use. First, use RIGHT, with 6 being the number of characters required to identify the word.RIGHT(Positions.Name,6) Second, look for the word “Intern “ including the trailing space.IF(CONTAINS("Intern ", Positions.Name), TRUE, FALSE) Then you just need to nest these to make one formulaIF(RIGHT(Positions.Name,6) = "Intern", TRUE, IF(CONTAINS("Intern ", Positions.Name), TRUE, FALSE)) It even works with International Interns!

Formula timed out due to dimension list too long

Bonjour, Je suis face à une difficulté et le message d’erreur ‘Formula timed out’ sur mon P&L; J’ai un metric qui calcule mon Budget P&L à partir de plusieurs sources (Revenue, Coût, HR, etc.) ; j’aimerais créer un autre metric reprenant le P&L avec une dimension en plus (une dimension Fournisseur présente uniquement sur les coûts) ; grâce à laquelle je peux voir mes coûts à la granularité fournisseur directement dans le P&L.J’ai donc modifié la structure du metric (en rajoutant la dimension fournisseurs, et modifié la formule avec des ADD sur les autres metrics alimentant cette dernière) ; néanmoins je retombe systématiquement sur un message formula timed out > 3 minutes. Je suppose que c’est lié à ma liste fournisseur (qui est longue) , mais je ne vois pas comment faire pour optimiser la formule ?
