Transactions Bulk Delete

Hello Everyone, I am new to Pigment and started with training recently. I came across a scenario where I had to delete a few items from the transaction list and realized the only option we have is manually selecting them and delete. Is there any way/action that we can create pointing to a Boolean metric which holds TRUE for delete items (with a formula) and whenever we run that action, it will delete those specific items (We can think of deleting a specific months data)Please suggest.Thanks,Ramana

Aggregation Cells on Tables with metrics that uses multiple Dimensions

Hello Pigment!We have some scenarios where we use multiple Metrics with different dimensions on the same table, ex: This table has Products and Month on Rows, Metrics as columns. Metrics structures below:Metric Dimensions Formula Product Demand Product, Month - Vendor Product Products.Vendor Planner Product Products.Planner We are aware that a possible solution could be adding “Month” dimension on Vendor and Planner metrics then add “[ADD CONSTANT: Month]” at the end of their formulas, this would lead us to our desired shape: However, this might not be the ideal solution; we do not need to be “calculating” Vendor and Planner every Month, for every Product, since those are properties which are not changing at all (not monthly, weekly, at least). Our apps are quite big, that is why we are trying to avoid that.There is a workaround? Also, there is a way to omit the “Total” rows/columns at all?

Filter by views in a board

Hello, For our monthly reporting we would like to filter by views in the boards we have, is it possible ?For exemple, for our revenues or COGS, in a same metric we have views by clients, countries, cohorts… and we would like to have filters based on these views in our reporting boards.Thank you for your answer. Jacques

What is the maximum number of cells that a table can display?

Hello Pigment Team,I’ve been testing various tables with large amounts of data to determine the maximum number of cells allowed. In my experiments, I’ve created tables with 1,000 metrics, 500 metrics, and 200 metrics, each dimensioned by weeks (208) and lists (5,000 records). Initially, I aimed to create a table with 5,000 metrics dimensioned by 208 weeks and a list of 1,048,576 records, but this did not work as expected.I’ve noted that applying “Dynamic Filters” doesn’t resolve the issue. Even when my dynamic filter shows only one selection, no data appears and I receive the error message: “Unable to load content for the current view. If the error persists, please contact technical support.”Is it more challenging to handle a larger number of metrics compared to a larger number of records in a dimension list? Do dynamic filters account for the “hidden” data they contain? What are the capabilities of Pigment in this context?Thank you for your assistance.

Add "Month" to "Month of Year" without aggregation

Hi Pigment Community,I’m working on building a forecasting model and have encountered a challenge that I could use some help with.The core of my model is based on using the "Month of Year" dimension to allow users to input information. However, I now need to incorporate the "Month" dimension for a specific year, which I want to select using a switchover date.The issue arises when I create a new metric and add the "Month" dimension. After filtering for my designated year, the metric aggregates the total values across all columns, leading to an incorrect result. Essentially, the metric isn't giving me the precise data I need.You might wonder why I didn’t implement the "Month" dimension from the start. My goal was to minimize the work required to maintain and update the model as we transition into a new year. In my current setup, the user inputs values for the "Month of Year," and I planned to assign these values to the desired year later, based on the switchover date.My main question is:

Hi, I have a metric with 3 dimensions: Quarter, Products & Employee. I also have a transaction list with the following infoSale XYZ  - in Q1 24  (dimension Quarter) - Productclass A - sold by John (dimension employee) - previous product seller is Anna (dimension employee)Sale FMG - in Q1 24 - Productclass A - sold by Maria - previous product seller is John In my metric with dimension quarter, product, employee I am calling in all product sales, but I assign them to the previous product owner so something like [by: -> sale.product.previousseller]. However, in this way all sales get assigned to the last previous seller, whereas I want to assign the sale from John → Ann and the sale from Maria → John because they were at that point in time the previous seller.  How can I do this?  Thank you very much in advance

Merging Dimensions Across Applications in PIGMENT

Hi I would like to merge all the items from 2 dimensions of 2 distinct applications in PIGMENT into a new dimension. Is this possible, and if so, how?To give a bit of context, I have an existing application that tracks ongoing projects and those planned for the next two years (updated via an import), and I would like to create a dedicated application allowing users to submit their project requests for the next 2 to 6 years.These requests will be subject to prioritization, and not all will be carried out. Therefore, I would like to distinguish between confirmed projects and future project requests by creating 2 distinct dimensions. However, in the end, I would like to merge them into a single dimension to facilitate analysis of all projects.Thank you in advance for your help.Have a great day,Antoine

Functionality for aggregating the data by a metric

In Pigment, Is there any way to use a metric with BY modifierI have two source metrics named as ‘Assigned’ and ‘Calendar Week’: “Assigned” with data type: Number Dimensions: Project, Role, Project Weeks “Calendar Week” with data type: Weeks(dimension list)  Dimensions: Project, Project WeeksI need to create a target metric:“Final metric”: of the data type: NumberDimensions: Project, Role, WeeksI’m trying this formula for “Final Metric” : ‘Assigned’[BY: ‘Calendar Week’]Since, Calendar Week is a metric and not a dimension list, formula is throwing error. Is there any way by which I can use the metric with modifiers?Can someone let me know if there is any suitable approach for this solution?

Increment the values by 1 for each column

Hi folks,I have a metric: “Start Week” of the datatype: “custom Weeks List” and using dimension “Project”. So, it has Start Week for every project. E.g. “Week 1” , “Week 27” for ABC, XYZ project respectively.In the metric: “Calendar Week” of the data type: “Weeks” List and using dimension: “Project” and “Project Weeks”, I am trying to fetch the Start Week and then increment it by 1 for every column of Project Week.I have tried this formula: 'Start Week'[ADD: 'Project Weeks']But, it is giving me the same value of “Start Week” value for every column in each project.Desired Outcome: For the 1st Project Week Column: it should give the “Start Week” value and for the next Project Week Column: (Start Week + 1) and for the next : (Start Week + 2) and so on…I have tried using SHIFT('Start Week'[ADD: 'Project Weeks'],1)but it gives Week 2, Week 28 for ABC, XYZ project respectively for every column .  SHIFT operatorSo basically, the values should be incremented by 1 for the subsequent columns.Wee

Maximum cardinality exceeded when using calculations

Hi, I was trying to use Calculations and faces maximum cardinality issue. I have metrics for BoP, EoP and 2 metrics I need to add. So, the logic would be EoP = BoP + Metric 1 + Metric 2Each of them has 6 dimension, and unfortunately I can’t get rid of any dimensions.We used the logic of where BoP = EoP {select month -1] and EoP is calculated as previous month + Metric 1 + Metric 2 but we faced formula timeout recently.Maybe anyone has any ideas how it can be solved?

Formate Input Metric to match existing Metrics

Hi Pigment Community, Hope you’re all doing well. I’m currently having a formatting/metric structure issue and was wondering if anyone had a solution to my problem. The current challenge I’m facing is that when I create a table using 2 existing metrics and 1 input metric, the format of my table follows the input metric, when I would like it to follow the format of the existing metrics. To further explain I have a list of managers and territories. Managers only operate in one territory, so in a table manager A should only be seen under country X, however I am seeing that Manager A is listed under Country A, B, C, etc...Blocks:DIMENSION: Opp Owner Name METRIC: Revenue [$] Y-1 METRIC: Revenue [$] Y-2 (no picture provided because its the same as Revenue [$] Y-1) METRIC: Yearly Bookings [$] - Input - NBiz TABLE: Output Yearly Bookings ($)To help explain I have attached images below that walk you through the issue I am facing.The first image “Opp Owner Name” shows a dimension that has a mapp

Dynamic Variable not Updated Page Selectors

Is there a bug in Dynamic variable?I have a metric with Year format and This year populates the actual months. When I apply this variable it doesn’t update variable in page selectors instantaneously. Instead I have to wait for a minute or two to see it get applied Or we need to refresh the browser url or application in order for it to make work. Is this the intended behaviour or Am I missing anything?Appreciate your responses!  Thanks,Misbah

Access rights on data level (Actual vs Forecast)

Hi Pigment community,I want to manage the edit rights in a Board, so that users only can edit/add data for Forecast data and should not edit/override the Actuals data. I created a Period Type metric:   I added the Period Type to the Year metric:   I created a custom Access Rights Metric named “Forecast Rule” for the Period Type and Year metric. I updated the access to Actual on Read / No Write and to Forecast Read / Write for all users:   I defined the rule so that it should be applied to all metrics using these Dimensions ( I also tried with “Period Type” only):   I created a Board that shows my sales data for projects and I still can edit/override the Actuals data in 2023:   After reading the Knowledge Base articles for managing Access rights, I tried many different things in my configuration, but was not able to figure out the proper way. I also found no other solution in the forum, so I would be happy if someone can help me understand and solve this issue.Best regards,Marco

How to Fix Special Characters in Your Name in Pigment Academy

Hello Pigment Community!If you’ve noticed that special characters (i.e. è or á) in your name aren’t displaying correctly in Pigment Academy, here’s a quick and easy fix: Login to Pigment Workspace: Start by logging into your Pigment workspace. Access Account Settings: Click on your profile name in the bottom left corner and select 'Account settings' from the menu options. Pigment - Account Settings  Update Your Name: Under the "My Profile" page, update your name by adding a random character (e.g., a letter or a number) at the end. Settings - My Profile  Save Changes: Click 'Save changes' to update your profile. Remove the Random Character: Once the changes are saved, go back and remove the previously added character from your name. Save Changes Again: Click 'Save changes' once more. Re-log into the Academy: Log out of the Academy, and back in again through your Pigment login. This process will refresh your profile information and should resolve any issues with special chara

Matching 2 lists with ranges

I have two lists.List with account numbers List with account groups and min + max rangesI want a function that assigns the numbers from the first list to the correct category in the second list if the number is within the respective range.I found the solution in Excel and could not find a suitable way to implement this in Pigment. Here is the Excel solution:=INDEX($D$2:$D$6, MATCH(TRUE, ($E$2:$E$6 <= A2) * ($F$2:$F$6 >= A2), 0))INDEX($D$2:$D$6): This part selects the Category column. MATCH(TRUE, ($E$2:$E$6 <= A2) * ($F$2:$F$6 >= A2), 0): This part finds the row where the number in column A falls within the Min and Max range.I tried to use the MATCH function with some IF clauses, but that was not possible. Also the IN function could help with ranges, but I haven’t found a way to combine it with the MATCH function.Is there any way to realize this with Pigment? If not, maybe that could be helpful in the future.

Pigment Champs! Could you please help me understand how Pigment is handling DevOps (Or is it still not available)? Is there any Best Practice document on Pigment (Like Planual in Anaplan)?  I see many Pigment sponsored apps have hardcoding in the formula. For Example - As Per Pigment: 1+ INP_YearlySalaryIncrease[BY CONSTANT: Month.Year][FILTER: Month.'Month of Year'= 'Month of Year'."February" ][BY CONSTANT: EE_Data_Stand.Region] I want to write it this way    -  (1+'01. INP Yearly Salary Increase')[BY CONSTANT:Month.Year][FILTER: Month.'Month of Year'= '00. INP Month of Increase'][BY Constant: 'EE Data Stand'.Region], here the inputs can be changed easily and freely. How does Pigment’s engine perform calculations? How many cores does it leverage at the same time? Is there any recommendation about the source data, that it should have a unique key? I understand that transactional dimension does not need one but it means that you would have to delete and reload/refresh the entire transac
