Aggregate data based on a condition using a custom window size

 Hi Pigment community,A similar topic has been opened before, the proposed solution was this: However, not all the time I need the same amount of data to aggregate, since my metrics are variable (sometimes I would need to aggregate 10 values, sometimes 1), what its the possible workaround?Tried using a formula like this: CUMULATE('Metric 1 to Aggregate'[FILTER : Month.'Start Date'<=(Month+'Metric 2 Lead Time Weeks').'Start Date' AND (Month+'Metric 2 Lead Time Weeks' + 'Metric 3 Lead Time Periods'-1).'Start Date'>= Month.'Start Date'],Month,"".SUM)Trying to isolate only the months I want to aggregate, but it doesn’t works.I tried to make and very detailed post but for whatever reason the topic wasn’t creating. Tell me if you need more details. Invite Members in Bulk

Is it possible to invite members to multiple applications at once?  Currently I have been going into each application, clicking on Settings, clicking on Roles, permissions & access, and then inviting members there.  It would be great if I could select multiple applications for which I am the owner and do a bulk invite.  Is there any functionality similar to this in Pigment?

Align Block Exercise - Values aren't adding up right?

Hi. I just finished the Align Block Dimensions for Formula Operations exercise. In the final table, we are to add the four metrics we created. No problem. But, when I look at the table my bonus metric does not match the “solution”. When I check the data, it adds up correctly to year and the formulas match. Any suggestions? Same formula. Did I miss a stop in the course? I didn’t see any instructions on how to build this table, so i’m kind of winging it.Here’s my result:Here’s the solution:

R&D Capitalization Schedule

Hi All, I am trying to create a R&D cost Capitalization schedule and need some help. Essentially which I am trying to do is spread the cost over 3 years but then add the incremental monthly amount as well. For example: If Jan 2024, my R&D cost is $1200 and  $2400 for Feb, then I should see $100 (1200 / 12) for Jan 2024 till Dec 2024 and for Feb cost, it should be $300 ($2400/12 + 100). I hope i am clear in my ask. How to Calculate MoM Change Using Formula

Hi, I am trying to calculate the MoM change in a metric, I know there is an option of ‘Show Value As’, but that just creates a view on top of the existing numbers and does not perform a calculation on the cells. Is there a way I could do a MoM change using a formula?  Thanks

To See Block Size - Full Read Needed?

Hi Pigment Community. So, it just occurred to me as I’m going through the courses that I cannot tell if I’m creating blocks/metrics that are too big. I read an article by @Samya Barkaoui on block building best practices that mentioned I need full read access to see these statistics. Is that correct? Who do I contact to obtain this and is this something that modelers don’t normally need in Pigment?

Fx management in Pigment - Workoforce app

Hi Everyone, We would like to have an easy workflow and process for compering Budget USD salaries at budget FX rates vs Budget USD salaries at actual FX rates. Is it a right approach to create a FX version dimension like FX actuals, FX forecast, FX budget etc? Or is it more efficient to utilise our current Version dimension and once we have a budget version we just make a copy of it and update FX rates in that version based on actuals to get the re-calculated USD budgeted salaries as per most recent rates? So the use case is: having an easy way to understand the FX impact in the BvA report.Example:Employee with 10,000 EUR salaryBudget EUR/USD rate: 1.2Budget USD: 12,000 USD salaryNetsuite Actuals EUR: 10,000 EUR salary (same)Netsuite EUR/USD rate: 1.3Actuals USD: 13,000 USD SalaryBvA = (1000) USDWe would like to then easily explain to budget holders that this 1,000 USD overspend is pure FX and not their "real" action on spending more. Finding specific text in a string

This was asked internally, and I thought I’d share the answer in case it’s of use to others!If you have a specific term you want to look for, in this case ‘Intern’, it can come up in Position names, but you may get false flags for longer words like ‘International’To identify these, I’ve created an IF statement that checks if the term is in use by checking for the trailing space, or checking if it’s the last word in use. First, use RIGHT, with 6 being the number of characters required to identify the word.RIGHT(Positions.Name,6) Second, look for the word “Intern “ including the trailing space.IF(CONTAINS("Intern ", Positions.Name), TRUE, FALSE) Then you just need to nest these to make one formulaIF(RIGHT(Positions.Name,6) = "Intern", TRUE, IF(CONTAINS("Intern ", Positions.Name), TRUE, FALSE)) It even works with International Interns!

Formula timed out due to dimension list too long

Bonjour, Je suis face à une difficulté et le message d’erreur ‘Formula timed out’ sur mon P&L; J’ai un metric qui calcule mon Budget P&L à partir de plusieurs sources (Revenue, Coût, HR, etc.) ; j’aimerais créer un autre metric reprenant le P&L avec une dimension en plus (une dimension Fournisseur présente uniquement sur les coûts) ; grâce à laquelle je peux voir mes coûts à la granularité fournisseur directement dans le P&L.J’ai donc modifié la structure du metric (en rajoutant la dimension fournisseurs, et modifié la formule avec des ADD sur les autres metrics alimentant cette dernière) ; néanmoins je retombe systématiquement sur un message formula timed out > 3 minutes. Je suppose que c’est lié à ma liste fournisseur (qui est longue) , mais je ne vois pas comment faire pour optimiser la formule ?

Pigment to Workday integration (sending data to Workday)

Hi all - we currently have an integration set up to bring in data from Workday to Pigment. We are now looking to explore how we can export data from Pigment back into Workday to create a closed-loop integration. Anyone familiar with this set up? How do I hide empty rows and columns in google sheets export?

When saving views and using the Pigment Connector to export them to google sheets, I’m unable to retain the “hide empty rows and columns” filtering selection. Is this a feature in Pigment or are there plans to add this feature any time soon? Thanks!

Board access

Hi there ;  I’m trying to find a way to give access to only one board of an application ; To be more specific :  I have the application "Budget", where the overall budget of the company is. In this application, I have multiple boards and I want to give access to (2 people) to only one of the boards (where they will find their own budget) but I don't want them to see the other boards (they don't have to see them). How should I do it ? Thx in advance

Calculating total price of subscription based on tiers

Hello Pigment community,I have a list of different clients that depending on the amount of users they are charged a different price based on tiers. Currently we do the process with an excel model that calculates the total price of the subscription based on a table that looks like this with the IFS formula:I would like to do this automatically on Pigment but I don’t know how to set it up so that based on the amount of users it multiplies such user for the correct price. Another limitation is that as you can see in the table there is the price of the Core service, and then there are different options that the clients can subscribe to. Therefore I also need pigment to multiply the usage by the correct options depending on what options each client has subscribed to. Currently in excel we do it by the means of this table: As you can see we use 1 as true and 0 as false. Thank you in advance,Gabriel

Copying Saved Views from Metrics to Tables

Several times I’ve run into this… I think I can solve my problem by just manipulating a new view of a metric. Then I realize I need to combine several metrics. When I finally create a table I have to completely recreate the filters, summing, and pivoting in a table. Is there a way to duplicate a view in a metric into a newly created table? This would be very helpful!

Issues with time aggregations

I have a board with year as a filter on top of the board and it is possible to select multiple years in this filter. On my board I also have a KPI that should show outgoing HC for the last month based on the selected years. When I look at my data with Years on the rows it looks like the picture below when I use “Last” as time aggregator.However when I remove years from the rows all values are blank. If I change the time aggregator to “Last Non Blank” it shows me values, but the problem is that “Last Non Blank” doesn’t always give me the values for dec in the last year, it returns the cells shown in the second picture below. It feels like a bug that the cells are blank when using “Last” as aggregator in this case or am I doing something wrong?

The Case for a Native Athena AWS-Pigment Connector

In our organization, we use S3 to store data as parquet files and work with Athena AWS. Currently, with Pigment's import mechanism based solely on integrated CSV files, we are compelled to establish a process that converts our parquet files into CSV. This isn't a favored method by our (BD&D) Team, to say the least. I can also elaborate on the pros of using the native connector to Athena AWS:Improved Efficiency: A native connector eliminates the need to convert parquet files to CSV for import into Pigment. This can significantly reduce the time and resources spent on file conversion, leading to improved efficiency in data operations. Enhanced Data Quality: Using a native connector can reduce the potential for data errors or loss that might occur during the file conversion process. Allocate Product Groups down to Product level by % Mix

Hi - I’m new to Pigment having spent many years working with TM1 and am struggling with some of the new concepts and methods ! - Trying to find a way to allocate multiple Product Groups down to the Product level. I have the product mix % by Product Group but can’t find a way to only multiply the mix within each Product Group. In simple terms its:-IF (Product.Group (property of Product) = Product Group (Dimension) THEN Product Group* % Mix of Product in that Product Group.I was able to get it to work if I hard coded one Product Group (Type) but can’t find way to make dynamic on all product groups. Sales_By_Product_Group  [Select: '02a.Product Type'.Type = "Barbecue"]*IF('02.Product'.Type = "Barbecue",'02.Product'.'% of Product Group Sales',0)In short is there a way to replace “Barbecue” so it iterates through all the Product Groups (Types) ?  Thank you all !

Adding empty rows in Tables

Hi Pigment team, I’m trying to add empty rows into my Table block, so that I can separate some categories of expenses from each other: I tried to create and add empty “Placeholder” Metric, however it requires a name and I can’t simply leave it empty. Connector: Gsheet with Pigment

Bonjour, Je voudrais savoir si ce serait possible lors d’un extract de Pigment à Google sheet via le connector de ne pas avoir des lignes vides? Ex: Lors d’un extract avec le connector, j’ai 30.000 lignes et sur ses 30.000 lignes j’ai 10.000 lignes utilent et qui contiennent des valeurs. Cela alourdi énormément les fichiers de travail.Dans les tables (extracts) dans Pigment, il y a une possibilité de filtrer et de mettre (Hide empty rows and columns).
