How to Implement a Rolling XNPV in Pigment?

I’m looking for a way to calculate a Rolling XNPV in Pigment, but I see that only the standard XNPV function is available.Here’s what I need:The standard XNPV in Pigment calculates the NPV based on all future cash flows from a specific date onward, considering the given discount rate. However, I need to dynamically roll the NPV forward each year, meaning: In 2024, the NPV should only consider cash flows from 2025 onwards. In 2025, the NPV should only consider cash flows from 2026 onwards, and so on. Each year's NPV should exclude past cash flows and focus only on the future values starting from the next period. Has anyone implemented something similar in Pigment, or is there a workaround to achieve this rolling effect?Would appreciate any insights or alternative approaches!

Hello, can you please help with the circular reference?For the “Revenue/Seller”, it needs to reference prior week line and current week WoW% input.I tried using this formula referencing the document here but did not work (used SELECT and PREVIOUS).For the Week 8 result, it should be exact same as Week 7.  IF(Week.'Start Date' <= '[Live] Forecast Start Date','[Live - Weekly] Revenue / Seller Final', '[Live - Weekly] Revenue / Seller Final'[SELECT: Week-1] * '[Live - Weekly] Revenue / Seller Final WoW') Thank you!

Identify duplicated Items in a metric

Hi, I have a table which I use to define a marketing channel based on department, account, and vendor. I want to make sure that I do not have duplicated entries for different marketing channels. Basically, that the same combination of department, account, and vendor does not exist. The trick here is that sometimes, there is no vendor or account defined. All four metrics are dimensioned by “line” and a corresponding dimension (line, department / line, account). I was thinking of creating a text metric (mgkchannel_key), which accumulates the combination of department, account, and vendor, and then counting the unique occurrences for each value. For example, for row 19 and 24, I would see another metric with the value 2, everything else would be a 1. (Then creating a boolean and use conditional formatting to highlight duplications).  How can I count the unique values in a metric? The solution I received below did not work since there is not always a defined vendor or account.  Solution th

Grab the most recent Load Date by Scenario from a transaction list with multiple load Dates per Month

I have a Workday load with multiple loads per month and I want to be able to pull into a metric, the individual fields by load date and by scenario. I have two scenarios with one set to Feb 2 and one set to Feb 15, when I test the following logic: EE_Load_Workday_Actuals.Department[by lastnonblank: EE_Load_Workday_Actuals.'Workday Employee', TIMEDIM(EE_Load_Workday_Actuals.'Load Date',Month)][by lastnonblank: timedim('Set_Last Actuals WD Load Date',Month)]  , the metric seems to just pull the lastnonblank literally from the transaction list. I changed and moved a sample in-month change to department for one record and it just took whichever record was physically lower down in the transaction list, rather than the load date.Is there a better way to go about this without the timedim and lastnonblank functions and modifiers? I couldn’t find anything else in the Community and couldn’t think through another approach. If there is a more efficient way to use a date within a modifier to get Pi

How to Dynamically Manage Hierarchies and Input Data from a Board in Pigment?

Trigger import through API without sending data

Is it possible to trigger an import from Netsuite, Amazon S3 or Salesforce using Pigment’s API?So in this case we don’t want to send the data in the request body, we just like to trigger an existing import using the API instead of having the import to run on a schedule. Just want to confirm if this is supported or not, can’t really tell by reading the documentation here:

Copy Pigment Board to another Application

I have created a board in an application that includes all the necessary dashboards and tables. However, I do not want to grant access to the entire application for all users in the organization. Instead, I plan to create separate applications for each department and replicate the board within each of these applications, sharing it only with the respective department heads. Could you advise if there is a way to duplicate or copy a board to a different application?

Trace Where Variable Is Used

I have inherited an application and am trying to clean up some items that I don’t believe are in use.  I have a variable that I cannot trace where it is being used (if being used at all).  Is there a way where I can see usage similarly how you can for a block?  I suspect this is not being used as a filter in a board but I want to check before removing it.  Thank you!

Removing Dimension without Impacting Manual Inputs on Metrics

Is there any way to remove a dimension without impacting manual inputs on metrics?  We built our application with nearly every metric using a “version” dimension in order to do budget v forecast and various other scenario planning. With the introduction of scenarios & snapshots, we no longer need to have this additional dimension on every metric.  If, for example, I removed all values on the version dimension list except for our forecast which we use to house all of our manual inputs, could I remove the version dimension and have those values be retained on all of the metrics that leveraged the version dimension? If not, is the only solution to re-input every manual input & manual override across every metric that used that dimension?

WF Planning: Remove Lastnonblank month Gives A Different Return

Hi Folks, struggling with an issue here. I have HC by dept over time. What I’m trying to do is take the last month of actuals, in this case December. In the example below, its 805. However, when I remove lastnonblank month, the amount jumps to 917. What I noticed when I drill into the 917 is that while month is taking the last month, the other dimensions are being flattened so counts are duplicating where things have changed over time. How do I take the lastnonblank of the other dimensions as well?

Link to a prefiltered board

When you apply a filter to a board you can see that the url is updated to include the current filter. The problem is just that the url only includes a GUID. Is there any way to find these guids in Pigment? For example when filtering on a specific employee in my employee dimension I can see that []=df7ce50d-304b-472e-a8e0-f448d960e8de is added to the url, and I would expect that each employee is related to a unique guid, so question is just how to get from dimension value to a guid. My use case is that I am having a grid view with a list of employees. For each employee I would like to link to another board with details about each employee and I would like this board to automatically be prefiltered based on which row I clicked on the first board.

Intern to permanent contract - formula for end date

Hi,Do you have a best practice to recommend on how to manage interns who are converted to permanent contracts (=CDI in France) in Pigment?Let’s take an example :In my transaction list, I have Employee1 which is intern with an end date on Dec, 31st 2024. He comes back as a permanent contract starting January 1st 2025 (with no end date). In my FTE calculation metric, the term date metric is calculated with :if(isnotblank('Employee Transactions'.'Term Date'[by last:'Employee Transactions'.'[Pigment] Name','Employee Transactions'.'Load Month']),'Employee Transactions'.'Term Date' [by last:'Employee Transactions'.'[Pigment] Name','Employee Transactions'.'Load Month'],previous(Month))The last load concerning employee1 does not have a load date, as he is a permanent contract. However, as I have  “previous month” in my formula, it takes into account an end date. So my Employee1 is counted as 0 on January. Would you have some formulas to advise for this case ? ThanksVenitia

Dates exported incorrectly through gsheet connector

I’m running into an issue with the dates getting mixed-up when I load data from Pigment to google sheets (see the formula bar in the screenshot, the date ). The issue is that the title which is a text field appears as the header, and gets translated to a date incorrectly. I tried switching the header in Pigment, but the start/end date fields aren’t listed as options. Did anyone else encounter this? Any suggested solutions?

Concatenate Dimension Type Metrics - Convert Dimension type metrics to text type

Hello Pigment Community,I need help converting dimension-type metrics into text and concatenating them into another metric.For example, in the screenshot I provided, I want the "Concat" metric for Row A to display "Asste1Con1".How can I achieve this? syncing context pages across multiple tabs

Hi, we have users that work on multiple boards at the same time that share common pages selectors.The challenge here is that when we switch from one dimension element to another on the page selector in one tab, we need to go through each other tab to adjust the page to the newly selected element. As people here work with like 10 tabs in parallel, that s a lot of clicks to update boards and have them being synced.Do you people encounter those kind of usage / challenge ?Are there ways to make this work in pigment and how if you experimented it ?I was thinking maybe using a custom user defined variable ?

Remove a dimension from a chart while maintaining the calculated item from that dimension

Hello, I have created a calculated item cumulating totals by week for a month. I would like to show the cumulative total of each week on a chart, without showing that week’s individual total. In the example below, I would like to remove the lighter blue “Jan 25” value, and keep the calculated item - the cumulative total by week. Is there a way I can do this?  Thank you!

Unshare block

Is there a way to unshare a block if it hasn’t been used yet? I accidentally shared a block I didn’t want to, and in the block settings->library the share toggle is greyed out. It says it’s being used somewhere else, but also says “Not Used” beside it.

Dynamic Variable not Updated Page Selectors

Is there a bug in Dynamic variable?I have a metric with Year format and This year populates the actual months. When I apply this variable it doesn’t update variable in page selectors instantaneously. Instead I have to wait for a minute or two to see it get applied Or we need to refresh the browser url or application in order for it to make work. Is this the intended behaviour or Am I missing anything?Appreciate your responses!  Thanks,Misbah

Ability to add multiple metrics with same dimensions at the same time

Hi Pigmenteers 🤗I have an input table with 10 input metrics (same dimensions, serve the same purpose). I know how to create them 1 by 1 directly from the table (more convenient), but I’m curious whether there is a way in Pigment we can create them all at the same time? 🤔

Extract Day from a date in text format

Hello,I have a Date field called “Delivery Date” (Ex : 10/06/2024). From here, I want to extract the day of the week in text format (Example :10/06/2024 is “Monday”) and my calculated field should show similar to the example here. I tried WEEKDAY(‘Delivery Date’) and it returns day of the week but in number format and I tried again TEXT(WEEKDAY(‘Delivery date”), again it does not work. How to convert weekday into Text format like Mon,Tue,etc…? thanksMohan

Sparse Engine concept

Hi Pigmenteers!While I’m taking Pigment trainings and explore my personal application, I figure out that there is no information about the size of my application or total number of cells, etc.. and the reason behind is that Pigment is a sparse engine.Therefore, can you help explain to me more about the concept of sparse engine - what is a sparse engine, how does it actually work and what is the benefit compared to non-sparse engine?
